PXME development is on hold for now, mostly due to me using my time towards school and other stuff nowdays. I'm not sure if I will continue working on it right now.

In response to your question, terrains have a CurrentLayer property that allow you to specify what layer the paintbrush will paint to.

I knew this was going to happen. Angry   Its because of all you morons who want to "write their own editor". The market is not big enough to support %$#&ing 10 world editors for TV3D so now we don't have this great product.
If all of you got behind one editor (including the developers) then we might have a final polished world editor product for TV3D and the support to keep it alive. Shame to you all that are responsible !

Don't bother replying if your're just gonna whinge back at me coz im just not interested.

Many thanks to Pizza for all the time that you put into PXME.

So I guess you've purchased a copy of PXME and you're bitching it won't be updated again anytime soon?

Hi raine

As you're one of the good guys ill respond. Call it what you want....its just a waste to see such a great program fall to the wayside. If its not PXME it would be somthing else that is started, others try and write a better one....all are half supported then all fail. If the market exists to support lots of world editors then great competition will work to make great programs but the market is just not there. Yes im bitching.

aloha TD!

I understand your point of view. PXME is a very good app and it saddens me a bit too. I still think however is no one's fault if Pizza's busy with something else at the moment. I can justify the presence of different editors since it's hard to a) found a team of skilled and nice people (most important the latter) b) earn anything out of an application such as a TV editor seeing as the more the people working on it, the less their share at the end of the day.

Here's hoping the alternatives will be up to a good standard, whatever they are.

And who are the competitors? I don't know another editor then PXME for tv3d.

I wouldn't count on Geonardo, I posted there over a week ago as well as sent Pat an email and no response from him, added to that there seems to have been no activity from anyone since september and there are less than 20 people who have created accounts.

I have played with the Geonardo API and its nice, but with the lack of support over there I gotta wonder if it's even worth the effort.

Well if the "community" would nominate one world editor and support it and if the devs gave it some sort of official position then the developer of the world editor would have more incentive to continue development.

Of course there are always whingers because this is not right or that is not right....those people are genetically disposed to whinging about anything.

Dude this is the best news I have had in a long time.  I am truly sorry to hear about your Mom, my condolences go to you and your family!!!

Ever since I have gone to your site a couple weeks back I have been jonzen for info on it and am happy to have you back around to answer some of my questions over there Smiley, I will say this, your product so far has exceeded my expectations on an editor platform and I am looking forward to lighting it up in an actual player environment to see what I can do with it.

I look forward to discussing more with you on this, and sorry for the bad publicity Smiley I take it all back hehe

*edit - By the way, when I mentioned mail I meant the mail system on your forums, not sure if it sends you a PM or an email.

I'm not sure if the market is big enough for a healthy two-product competition, but let's assume that it is, in which case: some competition is good. Wink

Both look good to me, but I haven't used them long enough to have an opinion. I'm just glad to see them making progress either way.

Hey everyone. I found myself with a bit of spare time over the last few days, so I decided to release what's done of 1.2 as a beta. Most of it is completed, there's just a few of the minor tools in the editor that aren't in yet.

Some of the major new features present in this build are:
 - New Manipulation Widgets (3DS Max style)
 - Custom Properties
 - Context click a 3D Object with middle mouse button
 - TreeView scene management
 - Volumetric Triggers
 - New terrain brush (use mouse scroll to resize)
 - Mesh / Actor presets (Make sure to add this plugin to PXME! it's in the Plug-Ins folder)
 - *Experimental* mesh / terrain paging, found in Tools - Environment Paging

I'll be releasing the new .Net loader for this in the next few days. If there is enough interest, then I will go ahead and finish this version up for full release.

Download: http://pizzayoyo.smithbower.com/PXME/1.2/PXME1.2b.rar

Please leave feedback on what you think, and let me know if anything isn't working!

Also, just thought I'd point out that if you have a license already, the 1.2 beta will be fully activated for you. If you don't, you will still have the same amount of trial runs as before.

Thanks! Having a good interface was the main goal of 1.2, so I'm glad to hear you liked it.

There hasn't been much interest in the beta, so I haven't started working toward the release version yet. If interest picks up I'll go ahead and finish it off, and then continue on with more features.
