I love the idea of TV3d being made open source so we can keep it alive...

A question, besides TV3d, what are some other decent game engines out there for use in VB.NET?

I looked around a lot. The best thing I could find is Unity. From what I understand though you must be using the pro version ($1500) and it helps to have a paid version of Visual studio (not express). From what I can tell unity uses Mono for it's back end which supports .net languages. I am no expert and don't have the paid version so I may not be 100% correct. You could start using free Unity and later upgrade when you start coding. Unity does use javascript natively though, it doesn't seem that hard to learn. I haven't jumped in because my project uses large data structures which is not good with javascript.

I have played around with Unity, I believe that you can use the express version of Visual Studios, and you can use it with the free version of Unity.
