Hmm! Liars that convince me to pay $500 for their bug-ridden crapware, future promises of features that have obviously disappeared faster than a fart in a monsoon and fake announcements of work being done can kiss my royal, uk, sitting on this chair, ass and go hang themselves.
Bait and Switch manoeuvres is what I never expected from here but as it obviously is the devs or dev, clearly don't care about this - what used to be something to look forward to 3D Middleware - and just loved seeing their bank balance increase when some poor mug bought a license for this sorry excuse of a project.
I have no intention of seeking a return of my $500. What I will do thought is blacklist your ass from me ever purchasing anything made, endorsed, looked at, thought of - even a hello world app you give away for free - by you or anyone that was associated with you with TrueVision 3D.
Get a life and learn you can't mug people off and not expect a forum post like mine.
Shove my $500 up your ass, pull it out, then choke on it, you THIEF!

That's tough... Sorry to hear it. I've been using Truevision for years. Got three commercial games out with it. They pay my bills and a little extra. I can see being out 500 would be painful if you're not going to use it. But yeah... Partly thanks to tv3d I get to stay home, sleep in late, make and play video games all day. Lol. It's possible man... Just learn how to use it, put in the time, and try to have fun with it. The engine is really... Seriously... More than capable of allowing you to create a game you can sell. It's really a good engine... But, ya, I agree... It's a complete awful bummer that dev team is not supporting it anymore. Still... Kicks ass tho. Good luck to you.

Hey there! My first post in ... who knows how many years :-).
There are a few of us who have been able to actually create something real with TV3D. Using this engine brings with it advantages and disadvantages. A close contact between key persons has been am advantage, as has been the technical consistency and straightforwardness of this engine. Clearly, disadvantages are a set of lacking of roughly made functionality, including a rich toolset.
Hence, it depends on what you were up to in the first place. It's apparent, that creating a functional product requires skills in many areas. Those of us who have spent much time with TV3D have gained skills in using this engine; it answers to many requirements, and in fact for me personally, most of the needs i have had in mind this far.
I know in my bones that there is a re-write ahead. But that's a problem for the future, and hopefully for other people. Atm, TV3D has proven to be a good choise. But nothing comes for free (or even for 500 bucks) - every pixel has to be taken care of. So it's not an easy task, to make a good 3D application, that i have learned over the years spent on 3D so far.

Amon,
I do see your point, as TV3D hasn't had an update for a long time, but the developers do come to the forums still, according to Sylvains account, he last logged in on the 19th December 2011, so do you really believe they have stopped supporting this product?
I apologise if you have read or told something I don't know as I haven't been on the forums for quite awhile, thought I would come back in the hope there was an update ;o)

Sorry to hear that, but there comes one quite big question to my mind: WHY the HELL did you pay 500$ when you could have just downloaded the full evaluation version, work with it, and see if it fits your needs?

Hmmm, $500 is the multi product liscense. The single product liscense was $150. How many products did you have with TV3D ready to go? I hope no one told you that you had to pay $500 just to use the engine. I was told the engine was free as long as it was non-commercial, no money involved use.

Thats because you're a latecomer, back in the days there was no "full evaluation" of tv3d6.5 , you'd have to choose between a $150 one-time license or a $500 unlimited license just to get access to the beta (dx9). I guess he chose $500 because he believed in the future of the project, only to see it die and rott in hell soon after he bought it. Yeah, I understand how you feel altho I only burned $150

Ok, a bit late to post but still, i feel urged.
Amon, we all know what TV3D is and isn't and it offers and not, but you have to understand (even tho it's a bit late) that Truevision3D.LLC is a company selling a product (alpha/beta/final or whatever) to those that, at it's current state, find it suitable for their needs. That's why it's free to try. Nobody sees it as the pet project of a person (although it may seem like one from time to time) and nobody pays 150$ or 500$ to 'help' it stay alive. Many of us use it and some of us bought it simply because we found a way to benefit financially from using it as it is.
How or whether you'll make use of your "unlimited license" is up to you.
