i dunno if TVDN has been updated for 6.2 cuz it says on the page 6.1, but with all the new(and amazing) features of 6.5, will there be an update to one of the most valuable TV resources??

Correct, TVDN will be fully updated, and its even getting an overhaul. The new TVDN will allow searching, cross-linking of methods, code samples, and perhaps even comments (I haven't decided if that is a good idea, or a bad one, yet.)

perhaps even comments (I haven't decided if that is a good idea, or a bad one, yet.) How about heavily moderated comments so that only usefull comments show up. Not a bunch of newbie comments... no offense to any newbs.

yeh comments would be great, but like jeff said, they'd need moderating.

Yeap, simply download it. It's an open Beta now and it's free to try.

Members of the TV3D community recently started working on the documentation for 6.5. This documentation is located at the wiki, It's heavily under construction but it might be useful to you already. and of course, you are more than welcome to contribute. link: http://wiki.truevision3d.com/tv3d65_doc/tv3d_v6.5_programmers_reference_manual

After breifly looking through this "manual", it is encouraging news. But I must ask, isn't there any examples with VB6 or other programming languages with this manual? I assume that TV6.5 can still be used with VB6, but since I use VB6 (at least for now) this manual doesn't help me all that much. Are the VB.net examples compatable with VB6?

Not having examples for all major languages is not an ideal situation I agree. However how can you claim that examples in other languages don't help you that much? Any programmer worth his salt can interpret source code snippets from one high level language to their own relatively easily. And that's what most of the wiki examples are going to be... snippets for how to make use of a particular set of functionality.

I don't understand why people are still using VB 6... .net 2008 is free and will do everything you need. Besides, you will learn some decent programming practices by switching! I think vb6 came out in 1998... think about that for a sec... 1998, how much has changed in computers since then?

Ok, first I would like to say that someday I will probably switch to... well... whatever microsoft makes for a new IDE in the future. The reason why I'm still using VB6 is for a number of reasons, but the 3 basic reasons why is...
#1 - Cost, I don't have the money to keep dishing out to microsoft every month for new softwere. VB6 maybe old, but its still a very useful tool for programming. #2 - Time, I have a ton of books based off of VB5 and 6, and it would take me a long time to re-read all the materal AND relearn techniques I have already mastered with VB6. Not to mention money.. AGAIN! #3 - Resources, most of the computers I got are fairly old so new software will most likely not work on my old computers. And AGAIN, this is another money issue.
I have tried VB.net, but I wasn't impressed with it. The syntax is a bit of a learning curve for me, and I just didn't feel comfortable with it. I have read a little about the 2008 version (don't know much about it really) but if its more like VB6 then VB.net, then I may consider switching to that in the future. But again, money and time is big factor with this so it may take me a while to switch to new software.
Anyway, back on the subject at hand. I know I'm in the minority here, but wouldn't it be nice if there was a VB6 section for us "out of date" programmers?

You mean in the declaration section for methods? The examples page template already has a vb6 section...

It does? All I see in the declaration section is "VB.net". Will the VB.net syntax work with VB6? It does look very similar, but I wasn't sure since I don't use VB.net. This might be a problem if each section trys to explain how a function works with examples. Sorry if I seem to be complaining too much. Just a little worried here because it feels like us VB6 programmers might be left in the dust.
