I think for most of the people it's not a problem to pay or not to pay. It's just :
-1. Why to buy a beta ? usually we buy a product when it's finished and not buy a beta and have the stable free.
-2. My team at the moment haven't decided to pay for beta or not. And it's BS to works with 6.2 if when 6.5 will be released you have to rebuilt all you have done in 6.2. All over the software industry if you works on a new beta you continue to delivers on the stable.
-3. No information at all from the Core Team. Did they wait only because TV3DNet is not ready or anything else ? no project status etc... Some people which are working alone on small games can wait without explanation (only 'wait more, it comes') but for serious people, it's hard to listen that. How to manage a serious project if your tool is not managed himself ?
I (and my friends) are thinking TV3D is a good software as far we have seen with 6.2. Sure, network is missing but it's easy to take others to solved that.
But working with a version which can be obsolete in 1 month ?, 2 months, 1 year is very serious decision in a choice of a software. Indie dont care about planning etc... not others.
Blablabla, you dont pay for the beta, you pay for a license for the 6.2 engine and as a favor to their customers they allow you to check out upcoming releases.
