Help!

I'm evaluating TV 6.2 for our future products. I understans that TV 6.5 will be a major improvement, and probably will suite our needs. I've applied for the Beta but got no response yet, and guess i wont get one.

Does any one know the date for release of 6.5?

Currently the only way you can get beta is to buy a 6.* license. I don't think the dev team need any more beta testers. As for a date, it's looking like sometime towards the end of the year (and yes, I'm aware it already is towards the end of the year...)

There is plenty of answers in the forum regarding this question.
There's not an official release date and this is completely understandable since the devs are polishing the core product (the rendering engine); I think that media and network engines will come later (after open beta).
Anyway, FYI the beta is quite stable and if you need to start a serious project my advice is to buy a 6.2 license that will be valid for 6.5 too and will actually give you access to the beta section.

At least this is what I did.

Just my 2c.

Thanks for your input, I think you're right. My problem is that I can't by all the products (there are many possible solutions for our requirements) we're evaluating. So far most of them had evaluation/limited versions that will do for evaluating. To bad if this product will be discarded from the candidates because we cant get a beta.... I hope i can get my hands on the beta, because I think it's good.

Cheers!

I understand your problem since I faced it too; I was a former registered user of Conitec Gamestudio, Garagegames TGE and TSE and tried Irrlicht, Ogre.net, Crystal Space and so on.
At the end I ran across TV3D (and it was almost an year ago) and found that it suites exactly my needs ( Strategic FPS).

But more, Tv is not a game engine like many of the others but more specifically a rendering engine so it leaves on your shoulders all the game implementation.

In essence you are free to develop almost anything that your creativity and your programming skills permit with an unbelievable ease of use and **really** stunning graphics.

In any case if I was you I will give 6.2  a try (it  is older but the concept is the same) to familiarize with 6.x series. After a little playing with it I think yuo may have a good idea of the potential of 6.5.
Btw, 6.2 is freely usable until you will not use it for a commercial project.

Do you mean a "6.5 release" in a few weeks, or a "6.5 beta release"? I mean, there is already a beta, but it's not of much help if i can't get access the betas...

I think that mathijs intended the switch to open beta.

Mathijs might be a little optimist here.

No date planned yet. We don't want to give you false hope. But yea it's getting closer.

How difficult is it moving a 6.2 project to 6.5?
