Hello, I appear to be having issues and would appreciate any assistance you could provide.
It is my desire to develop a small independent game utilizing the VB.NET language and the TV3D library (version 6.3) to display graphics.
Unfortunately, I have thus far not been able to use TV3D in the VB.NET environment.
I attempted to export a mesh from 3D Studio Max 9, load it with TV's built-in functionality, and apply a texture; for some reason, however, I have been unsuccessful. Could anyone provide insight as to what issues I might run into with this workflow?
I would greatly appreciate any assistance that could be provided, specifically in the area of loading and texturing meshes. I apologize for not having provided more information, but as I'm very new to this entire process, I was not entirely sure exactly what would be useful to you in answering my question. Further details can be provided if you might help me understand where exactly the problem would occur.
I implore you to help and offer many thanks!
I'm also crying.

Don't be mean aion, you knew what he meant.

lol

Anyway rockden, here's what we need to know:
1. Have you referenced the TV3D Engine Yet? If not, you need to go to your Solution Explorer, Click the Show All Files. Right Click the references, and select "Add Reference"
2. Have you initialized the engine? Have you initalized a TVScene?
3. Does your TVA have materials?
4. Do you have a light in your TVScene?
5. What Errors are you getting?

I think that might be a limitation of the 3ds format. I think 6.3 may use one of the older versions of the format. But I never heard of the 1 Meg limitation. I thought the limitation was 65536 verticies. How many verticies/faces does your >=1 MB file have? Are you sure your modeller is allowing you to save a 3ds file properly?

I could only test the 3ds file if you post it as I do not have 3ds max.

Ok, I have recieved the two files. I found 2 files:

cy30mk0.3DS - 2,269,027 bytes (2.16 MB) and
cy30mk4.3DS - 2,993,393 bytes (2.85 MB)

I could not get cy30mk0.3DS do load anywhere. It would not load. I suspect that there is somthing wrong with this file, perhaps it was not exported correctly. I do not know.

The cy30mk4.3DS did load, but it did not look good. Attached is a screenshot of the file loaded in anim8or.

As you can see, it problably looks nothing like it did in  3DS MAX, which leads me to belive there is somthing wrong with the exporter in 3DS MAX.
