lol yeah, you have to change the texture directory. It's directing to a wrong directory. change it to ..\..\..\ if you placed the sample in the Tutorial directory.

First of all EXCELLENT tutorial....

Second, some possible enhancements?

1.  Set a variable/constant to the distance the grass STOPS being blended

2.  Set a variable/constant to the distance the grass STARTS being blended

This would make stuff fade in a bit more gradually, so hopefully things wouldn't appear quite so quickly...

ALSO....

would be quite easy to convert this to a "rain/snow" class... just make the billboards fall as they are rendered, this could make rain/snow REALLY cool... I don't have time right now to tinker with it, but hopefully somebody does Smiley

Again, EXCELLENT class, very easy to use, very fast, very well written...

Screenshots:

@BadSyntax - The grass starts being blended at the maximum distance which is the size of one tile. If you change tile size you change the distance it starts being rendered.
And yes there should be a variable where it becomes fully visible. Now it's hard coded into the init method. The reason is: you can have more of this class working together. (I will use it that way) So bigger bushes and such appear first and small grass is only becomes visibe closer.

Well, with good reason. This post is almost two years old...
I don't think it'll even compile with TV 6.2. But someone might've kept the source/port it to 6.2...

you could always just work on it a bit.  There's more reward to having done it yourself.  Not to mention that you'll actually know how it works and what you did, rather than just cut and paste.
