Years ago I made a VB6 program that displays landscape of the ocean floor usig the versoin 6 revision 31 of the Truevision3D engine. Real basic, just one texture and one 3D mesh as a boat with direct draw routines and it worked great. The trouble is it seems that since Vista came out I can not get the landscape very bright, even with the lighting at maxium. My question is does anyone think that updating my TV3D EXE will help or maybe there is another setting I may not be doing? I use DXcolor to change brightness.

Try not to use lights. The defaul material a landscape has an emissiove component. Also, if you want to use materials use the materialfactory (do a material with an emissive component, for example using creatematerialquick)
