Since I know everyone likes 6.5 teasers, I thought I'd post a few...

These are just landscape and water... Haven't done any atmosphere stuff yet. I still think they look pretty cool.

btw slider, how did you get the ocean shader to do that?  Did you apply the shader to a mesh or what?  Mine just keeps comming out as a flat mesh and it's confusing me.

Yeah, i was actually wondering about that my self.  I thought maybe it was designed to show "waves" against shore.. I will fiddle with it some and see if I can get rid of it.. even though I think it actually looks pretty good that way.

Newborn is correct, and I was planning on msg'ing you about this, Jeff.  I believe its either something with moving the plane itself, or moving the camera Y before rendering the water.  (It was a long nite, don't remember much...)

I dont think its really a bug, its caused by the way this water is made. Though i think you can prevent it from happening by moving the water plane up a bit.

VERY impressive!

Those are great framerates as well, out of curiosity have ya'll developer types found DX9 to be a lot faster then DX8?  I'm assuming it should be a *bit* faster, but since ya'll have worked with the way TV works maybe it would be more noticeable to you.

I don't pay close enough attention to know if dx9 is faster...
