That's actually pretty good, did you use physics for the movement of the device held in the claw?

Thank you, yeah it's all physics based and I did get the cable retracting too, thank you for your help Mithrandir.

One small problem I do have at the moment is when the yellow cable (tether) goes into compression, because the ROV is quite heavy, Newton goes into overdrive and the FPS shoots down, you can see it in the video as the ROV backs up and drops down.

I'll play around with the masses to see if I can get it any better, but if I up the mass on the tether elements the cable behaves more like a group of jointed rods and doesn't look correct.

I've heard soft body physics is better for this kind of stuff, but Julio Jerez reckons it isn't the silver bullet it's made out to be.
