Beta release of World Generator 1.2b for Planet X Map Editor (PXME)

So what is this then?
Well the generator basicly creates Terrains with a perlin noise algorithm.

So what makes this better then a heigtmap made by some other editor?
Well this generator actually lets you plan the whole world in a grid system. Not just one terrain.
You can specify where you want to have mountains. Flat areas for city's. Water areas and what ever you like. You can specify Terrain defaults by yourself even if standard Terrain defaults are included.

This sounds great but how big worlds can i make?
Well how much diskspace do you have? Wink

Is it free?
Yes! This plug in is released under license IDRC (I don't really care). But maybe future versions will get another license.

Background info
The reason why i started working on this project is that i like RAD. I wanted to work with big worlds that just don't end abruptly. Now you can specify that the whole world is surrounded by water or mountains with ease.

Little start off guide.
Start PXME and add WMG_plugin.dll as a plug-in. You will now have a new button into of PXME that says World generator. click it!
Now you will the basic work area. The tree view contains all terrain defaults and ”world” where you can specify number of terrains to use for your world and also the chunk-size with more.
After you change number of terrains you must click the redraw grid.

In the Grid (Worldlayout) you can now see the terrains as one cell.  Default mode is click to change and this allows you to change the terrain to another default (represented by colors) In selection mode you can select a terrain to change data for just that terrain or you can select multiple of terrains for changing to another terrain default type.

When you are done with your settings click Generate world. Now wait until the eventlog tells you that World generation is complete. Now you won't see anything until you turn on environment paging. I suggest you increase Unload and reload terrain distance to about 20000 and then turn on paging.

The Plugin:

Example output:

I know it this plugin have some small glitches atm but it is in beta so bare with it. The textures are not in a good quality and were made in haste just to have something more then a white terrain.

Known problems.
Water surface can get same height as terrains
There is sharp edges when terrains connect to each other.
World scale property generates funny result if changed from 1

This looks great MoonWolf! I'm glad you decided to release it, a lot of people will find this useful for generating large worlds. Nice work.
