Does anyone here have any ideas where to look for artists preferably ones willing to work for free/hobby?

Modellers are like rare, good modellers are extremely rare..

I wish u the best of luck trying to find someone skilled, we managed to get a modeller who can produce some excellent low-polygon models - just stick in there, and keep searching..

Thanks for the advice and the link. I can make some crude models but nothing spectacular. Thus, the reason for my search.

Forgot the link but you can search it in Google. But goto Turbo Squid and post in the forums wanting artists. You can also try Garage Games and Game Dev.

you can also find 3d artist's at 3Dbuzz in the game forums or on the IGDA site and look in your local chapter area if there is one in your city or country. I'm a concept artist and a 3D artist, but right now I'm doing artwork for two games, one game is a project from the IGDA(International Game Developers Association). And the other is for my friends company, it's sort-of-a crash banicoot/earthworm jim/wipplash type (wipplash is the game where a ferret has a bunny whipping him around on a rope, breaking things).

I have lot's of concept art for both games but both games are to be kept NDA like status.
