I almost considered contactacting you there given that I've made a great deal of progress in the netcode portion of my mmo.  Then I read your reply to newborn and made the wise decision that I'm not in the slightest bit interested in working for someone who is quite as much of an ass as yourself.

Well you see it comes to a time when a man can only take so much. Then that man has 2 options.

He can walk away
He can fight back

Well Im tired of walking away. And if your choice is based soley on that. Well then thats your right. Just like I have a right to post A help Wanted AD with out being shot down by someone who evidently is mad at the world.

So in light of this i think Newborn was the one in the wrong. Does it say anywhere in the topic I need some critics ? No it dont

No, it doesn't say anywhere that you need any critics.  However, this is a free and public board so anyone can say anything they want.

And on another note, the reason newborn had that reaction is because the network code for an MMO is one seriously complex beast of a thing to create.  There seem to be a whole lot of people that come around talking about their MMO's and are never heard of again because reality sets in and they realize that creating an MMO is one of the most difficult thing you could ever set yourself to programming.

One thing that might have helped your cause a bit though would be to have put in your origional post a little more information to show that you're not just some guy that got the bright idea to make an MMO but has no clue how to go about it.  Stating if this is a personal project or a sponsored project would be quite important.  Also stating exactly what kind of payment and when it could be expected would be useful.  Basically though, we don't have any information about you or any team you may have and like I said, these types of posts come up rather often and the authors are usually never heard of again.

Well to discuss payment in open is business failure. To discuss the type of game in the open and without signed forms is SUICIDE. We are totally aware of the reality of this project. We didnt just sit down and dream it up in one day. We dont need some one coming in an hijacking a thread that dont have a clue about our game and thinks he knows the world. If you wanna talk business we will talk business. If not then dont contact . Plain and simple

And the reason why you dont hear from them again is cause of assanine unexplained remraks like that.

Newborn was laughing at the fact that you provided a 3 sentence request for somebody to commit possibly months or years to writing extremely complex code.
Though maybe not the best way to say it, I don't blame him for feeling that way  Cheesy

No, this was before we laughed at them.  I wasn't saying you were supposed to write a design doc and say you've got a budget of $2,000,000.  Simply stating that you are sponsored and a few details about the game maby (or saying that you have funding, game details aren't really important at this time).  It's really just like what trashcan said.

So, you're going to withdraw your offer to a forum of 2521 users because of 1 person's remarks? That's 0.039% of this community!!!!

Well then, I wish you luck on your journey. I've seen the many unanswered MMO proposals on rentacoder... with a defeatist attitude like that, you're going to be even LESS likely to get someone wanting to help you. Not only that, but you've now got 2520 users annoyed with your presence because you're being an ass towards this entire community
.... good day!

No you're not.

Yes Yukito, you're right, I should explain myself instead of just bursting into endless laughs. Here, foodstamp, if you think you are that good, maybe you should take a look at some MMORPG like:

Microsoft's Mythica

Codemaster's Dragon Empire

Warhammer Online

Ultima X: Odyssey

You really think that YOU are better than any of these multi-million dollars generating compagny who cancelled their MOO projects?

Give me a break!
This is reality here, not fairy world.
MMO? Were talking big project here, not a garage game.

Yes, I was rude. No, you didn't asked for any opinions. But it's the Internet world and your first post was quite lame. Have you ever thought of browsing and doing some researches before hitting the "New Post" button?

"Assassin unexplaned remarks"? Ha! You acted like the pass 173 newbies who offered "money" to code their MMORPG. I'm tired of this and I bet I'm not the only one tired of it. Yes, we saw a lot of new comers here during the past couple of months. Some stayed, some left.

Most of the one who stayed are remarquably proficient with the "Search" button and a good quantity of these newbies are making this community more interesting every day: new ideas, new approches, new stuff. They are very interesting and the community is very helpful towards them.

But YOU... You just acted like a boredom, like a guy who doesn't know anything about the real implications of a single player game, nevermind a multi-user game! You came with this super idea of changing the face of the MMO and you think that offering the networking part of a VB6 MMO is the summum of a dream job?

Now, honestly, tell me, what exactly did you think you would receive as an answer by posting here? You ever thought of posting on Gamedev.net? Oh, right, they have a "newbie faq" in which you can read:

So you have an amazing original idea for a game that is going to blow the world away? That’s good. The gaming community always needs new up and coming talent. Now, you’ve probably got that game idea all worked out in your head, and eager to see what other people think about it. So you’ve found this forum and are about to write a post asking people what they think of your game…Well, before you do, you should be aware of something:

There is a pretty high chance you will be flamed and not get the responses you want.

Now, this is nothing to do with the Gamedev community being mean, or anything to do with you personally. It's probably got to do with the way you are writing your post. If you are serious about getting feedback from people about your idea, following the guidelines below will help you with this.

Well, if they are posting that, maybe it's because there is a reason after all...

For further information, I would highly suggest you read the entire post on their website, maybe you could turn this nasty flaming experience of mine into something useful for your life... Gamedev's Post

Thank you, have a nice day.
