Does anyone thing they could do me a couple of trees.  I will return the favor if possible.  A tree model with 1000 or less polys?  256x256 or 512x512 in unit measures using max 6 with sp1 i guess would be best anything though. Textures under TGA

As soon as I get home, I'll make you 2-3 trees.
I need practice so it shouldn't be a problem.

Do you think you could save them in Treemagic-G2.  or make me screenshots of them.  I am sorry I didnt have max installed and cant find the disk.  If you can do that I will greatly appreciate that also.

You can also submit resources like this to their website, and that way they will always be available.

I have treemagic g2  Take a look at some of my trees.

Just a couple hours of work and premade textures.  Just wait until i work on some of my own HIGH RES textures for leaves/bark.  They will be really nice.

Thanks for your help.  I still wish I could have viewed the trees you have made for me.  If you could change them to treemagic format I will view them. I will probably use them also.

I bought treemagicG2 yesterday after hearing alot of good things about it.  I have just messed around with it making a couple trees to get used to it.  Seems like it's living up to it's rep.  I am having an exporting problem though maybe someone who knows more about it has an answer.  I am exporting as .X it copies the textures and the creates teh .X file BUT the only thing in the .X file is the tree trunk  :?  Is there some setting that I am missing to export the leaves and the branches?

I don't have G2, I purchased Pro and then they released G2 a few weeks later (didn't even realize G2 was in the works Sad) so I don't know why it's only exporting your trunk, unless maby you've got the trunk selected and for some reason it only exports what's selected.

On another note, I just checked the aliencodec website again and saw that PlantLife should be out soon (this is the first I've even heard of it too) and I'd have to say, I think I'm going to have to find myself another $50 so I can buy that when it's released, because it looks pretty awesome and definately looks like it will solve a lot of my problems trying to find grass and weeds, and the rocks don't hurt either, of which I can't even redistribute the ones I'm using now because I borrowed them from FarCry.

dunno... I usually export as milkshpe, then change some stuff in the text file so it calls the textures correctly (i changes textures to dds) and then open=>export them with milkshape

Yeah it work for me if I export to a .OBJ file and then bring it into 3DCanvas and export as .X.  Seems (for me anyway) to just have an issue with exporting straight to .X..... :?  Oh well, not really a big issue ....still a good tool.

well, I know that the pro version that I have doesn't export the meshes in a .x format that the beta version of 6.5 can read, so I still have to run them through another converter.  So maby they goofed something with the G2 version and .x exports as well.

It seems that the MeshView program that comes with the DirectX SDK is unable to read the .X format exported by TreeMagicG2.
