Hello all,
I need 2D artist for textures and 3D modeler for my RTS game.
Game has reached a stage where I can not continue my work without design assets.
I need 3-4 unit models as well 2-4 building models, textured. I'd be happy with that.

However if you are willing to work until the end with me I'd be very happy to cooperate with you.

2D artist will handle texturing of models and making GUI graphics, as well as other in game textures...
3d artist's work will be to make us about 30 buildings, 30 units models. With some basic animations (production, in construction, walk, shoot, die, idle etc...).

Game is futuristic RTS, there are two distinct races. Full design document is available as well complete story, mission by mission, with scenario for cut scene videos...

Please answer. Thank you.

I can do some alright gui graphics I think, but I'm mostly a coder lol. I don't think you'll find very many people here with artistic talent. Tongue

If you are like me, not only can you not model but you loath the idea of having to waste time learning how to use a modeling tool just to create some simple test models.

But, this is something you may just end up having to do for your static meshes at least.  For your actors you're just going to have to find some free models online and make do.

OK, so modeling sucks... what to do?  Get a copy of Sketchup and/or Silo3d and make some modest meshes yourself.  You can do it.  Unlike 3dsMax, Blender, Maya or any of the major packages, you'll quickly discover that Sketchup and Silo actually make sense!  You're not looking to create good looking pieces, just placeholders that will allow you to test things such as LOD switching, polycount balancing, etc.

I think you'll find that by using Sketchup or Silo, making your own programmer content is not nearly as difficult as could be if using some of those other insane applications.

Try it.

I have video tutorials about 3d Max as well some books about it, I also had some classes about it at my university. I'm getting grip around it but for good looking nice models i should take a semester at private schools. It can be done but it will take time... and I want to concentrate on coding....
I've heard about sketchup and i'm gonna give it a try.

But, my offer remains and I'm listening to your answers...
