hey guys & gals, I had to create a new user because there was a problem with my other account(Frost). I've been pretty inactive due to the reason that i've joined the army and i dont get out much. Anyway ive been working on a level editor in 6.3(havent tested 6.5 yet).

it's pretty basic since i havent had a lot of time to work on it, anyway im posting about it because i also had a few questions on how to make some stuff work. so here it goes:

i was wondering how can i make the game pause everytime i move my mouse out of the render window so it wont change the position of the camera while im trying to select something on the toolbox?(ive tried searching for an answer on the forums but i couldnt find anything.)

I suppose you should move the camera while holding a key (right mouse button for instance), so that the user is free to move the mouse quickly in and out the render canvas

Check the viewport size in relation to the screen size. So if the mouse is in the viewport then let the user control the camera else don't let the camera move.

until there is a good open source one, people will continue to write their own.  A binary only version would have to be pretty spectacular because it would force you to use their closed src DLL at run-time and that's unacceptable for allot of people.

A good open source one? It'd have to be: extandable, spectacular, performing, generic enough to suit everbody's needs.

Now. I value open source. I mean, you just have to mention Zak and the praise begins. It's just not realistic. I'm not against it. It just feels like a lot of work. It is, isn't it?

Indie devs might be indie... but I think they still need a bit of cash, don't them?

My two cents.

On topic: keep up the good work. After all, world editors are a fantastic training ground. You learn lots of things.
