Need a good general texturing tutorial.

Heyas everyone. I'm brand new to 3d and looking for a good general texturing tutorial. All the ones I've found seem to be for super advanced texturing.

The modeling program I'm working with is blender. I read through the "blender noob to pro" (or whatever it's called) tutorial on the blender wiki and am now confident enough to throw together a few basic models. Then I spent the last few days diving headfirst into tv3d and am now able to get my models into the engine and move them around and what not, but now I've come to texturing.

What I need is a tutorial that will help me get my head around the basics of making textures and getting them on to my models in-game. Basic stuff like, general rules of thumb for sizing and layouts and file formats and whether or not there is anything special I need to do in blender, ect...

So if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be much appreciative. Thanks!

Well, certainly not from programming forums!

How about checking artists forums, maybe you would have more help there?

Free 3D tutorials. Lots of tutorials covering each category of 3D graphics and many software packages including Blender.
