hmmm, I dont think there's anything the nebula engine or unreal engine can do, that Sylvain cannot do.

Its the competition for Unreal? How come I dont see anything about physics or AI then? I definitely could have missed it but I didnt see anything on the feature page. As far as graphics, yeah they seem to be able to compete with the big dogs.

Only interesting I see here is bumpmapping and stencil shadows (with error: why actor's shadows add on other shadows? not real...)
And this actor seems very fammiliar, I think it's a doctor from MOH2, little bit changed.

Today's engines are hard to compare beacause, if engine has feature for shaders, there are no limits, I repeat, no limits for you to do in graphics. Everything can be achieved through shaders.
Just, shaders are tricky, coz you have to be a good progarmmer and an artist... one without another doesn't give good results...

Yeah right. That's gonna happen soon.
Whole XNA is based on HLSL, and XNA is the future!

I think nebula 2 is a really good engine but its not something like tv. Tv has community, tools, docs, and is way easier.

Nebula 2 dont have an official community and you really need a big teem of programmers to make a game with it or anything else ( its even stated on theyre website ).

But still nebula 2 has one big +: Free for any commecriacl project, no royaltes no nothing, you have a full 360 fredom for no money.

If someone has a teem of programmers and can make all the tools, and program a lot its a good thing.

Personally i like tv more becouse of all the community and a lot easier way of making stuff.

And tv is still 150 $ for a license, the community itself is worth that and I will be happy to buy tv as fast as i get the money.

ps. The nebula 2 screenchots are impresive but i dont think they are better than tv screenchots.

Nebula Device 2 is aimed towards the commerical developing team. I used for a bit and I liked what I did, but it is fairly difficult to learn on and no there is no forums page. But Nebula is definitely stronger than TV, but in a way I feel that TV is better, mainly because it has a community and good tutorials.

You don't need big team. For example: I used Nebula 1 in my project: Tram Simulator (www.motorforum.xt.pl) And in my team is only 2 programmers Smiley. Now we use Nebula 2 . Nebula 2 is not very difficult, and its's more powerfull than TV. But Nebula 2 has one big  bug: It hasn't any editors and support is very poor. TV have some bugs too. First and the biggest ist: TV is not OpenSource like Nebula.

Sorry for my poor english Smiley

Just FYI: I have seen real time raytracing done on a claster so its just a matter of better hardware.

@ dreamer:
Well tv being not opensource is not a bug. For instance that way i like it a lot more.
Tv consists of libs that you use to quickly make your app without geting your hands to dirty.
I dont see any point in making them opensource. That would not give anything new to the end user and only alow other people to develope theyr own version of tv.
Mostly becouse you write your app on your own and tv just makes sure that you can create 3d things quick and ease.
I would like to see the source to tv but i would not propably ever use it or even compile it.

I sure as hell hope not..  Nebula now is multi platform, and .NET sux beyond believe.. come on, I want to use the power of my new computer, not have my computer run at the same speed (with application in .NET) as my old computer (with application in regular C)..

Do not attempt to start a language war here.
