I have used gamemaker for 3 years and i was shocked for what i see on truevision3d.
Truevision3d is alot harder but the community has help alot.
In my opinion truevision3d is alot better than gamemaker6.2

The community forum for gm is alot more packed though you can wait a max of 10 mins for your question to get answered.
This forum is not as packed but extremely help ful.

does anyone else have a opinion on the 2 engines(gamemakers)

I'm back with TV3D until Visual3D is completed. So I will be using one favorite engine for a while.
I am now working on a game with TV3D.!

Working with TV3D is like sculpting a stone statue. The TV3D team hands you the block of stone, and you chip away at it   What you end up with depends on you. TV3D is in a whole different class then gamemakers, as it also serves to make applications. I believe in the TV3D team and their future which is very important to me.

The Gamemaker series are primarily for 2D games.

The main factor holding back the 3D functions is speed. Once your game gets too big the loading time can get ridiculous.
So GM is better for 2D and TV3D  for 3D.

Oh and by the way 6.2 hasn't come out yet Jermaine, its still on 6.1.

Your not actually cvomparing GameMaker6.2 to Truvision6.2, are you? I don't think GameMaker was ever intended to do 3d. I mean, it wasn't GameMaker's primary purpose. Yes, it can do 3d. And yes, if you are extreemly talented, you can actually fake some pretty decent 3d. But, that's not GameMaker's purpose.
I have GameMaker. I still use it from time to time, just to make quick games, when I'm bored. Not a bad engine. But I plan soon to pop out games in TV3D as fast as I have in GameMaker. What I'm working on right now, is tools in TV3D to help do this. The Biggest Tool I'm working on: FigureEditor. Next project I'll be working on, I General World Editor (GWE).
