If $1,500 frightens you off, what chance did you have of making a MMORPG anyway? Your server costs would make $1,500 look like pennies.

Isn't it made by the same people that make RealmCrafter? I messed with the demo for Abyssal, not worth $1500 to me Sad The editors just felt very clunky and un-optimized.

But! If for that $1500 you had source access, it would be worth it. Because even as clunky as it felt, it's many many hours of dev time to create it. Just my opinion Smiley

Hehe MMORPG .
You can build MMORPG  with OpenGL or DirectX api knowledge. But thease that not guarantee you that you will create MMORPG only if you are expert with that graphics api. You will need programming network arhitecture and decent peace of hardware ( some server ) and good bandwith from your ISP.

Erm.. I didn't see a single spelling error on the whole web site. What you going on about?

And if it's so terrible like you say then what are they doin selling $8,000 license packages to companies?  http://abyssalengine.com/press.html

I just did and it runs and renders fine for me.. in fact it looks a lot like Oblivion looked.

you sound like a bitter competitor.. or just a dumb hobbyist who expects to press a few buttons and a have video game made.  Shocked

since that post was made (september 2010), the website has been redone as well as the samples iirc, so that's not correct any more Smiley
