you'll have to do a bit of digging, but .x files are exportable out of maya with the addition of a 'special' dll. its been a while since I dug into it. If i can find the links i'll post them.

Mr Sylvain said that exporters for 8.5 and 2008 will be availible in next update. I'm sure that means soon.

How soon, that is the question...  Smiley

I'm getting by OK with the PolyTrans DirectX exporter, but I'd love to see a Maya 2008 TVA exporter.

On a side note, will TVActor.ExportAnimations and TVActor.SaveTVA be fixed in the next update, as well?

Can you point me to what was wrong in those functions? Wink
It's probably fixed but just to be sure...

Um... they don't work?  Tongue

I am using the DirectX format (no TVA exporter for Maya 2008), so I have to export one long animation and then define the segments using Actor.AddAnimationRange().  Should the functions work anyway?

They export data, but it never seems to load properly.

Hmm oh, you want to export the animation ranges that you defined ?
In this case you can just save back the actor to TVA using SaveTVA, new ranges will be saved. No need to export animations.
Export animations actually export all animations (source one included) to a file so that you can reimport it in another TVA file (with same bone hierarchy)
