Well, we've got us a new website, and its got all these fancy features -- but its not phpBB so no-one knows what to do!  Oh noes!  My goal here is to highlight new or unique features that SMF offers, as well as new mods that we make to the site over time, so that you can get the most out of the TV3D Community.  I will keep adding new replies to this thread as these tips and tricks come to mind, or as people PM me about them.  If you find it useful perhaps others will as well, let me know!

Private Messages

One of the first things that drove me nuts with SMF is the way the PM's are displayed to me.  It just wasn't natural for me to have the new messages at the bottom of the list, and having to resort them every time I went to my inbox was annoying.

Well, SMF has options for a lot of items.  To fix this go to the Members page and click on "My Account", and from there click on the "Look and Layout Preferences" in the middle of the lefthand column.  Near the bottom of this page you should see a checkbox labeled "Show most recent personal messages at top." -- check that box and click "Change Profile" and you're all set, your inbox will now bring the newest messages to the top!  Your "My Account" section has a lot of little options such as this to change the way just about everything is displayed, check them out!
