I decided to post a 6.5 FAQ since so many questions keep coming up over and over.  Hopefully from now on we can start directing people to this post, and we will try and keep the infomation here as up to date as possible.

When will 6.5 be available?

There is currently no set release date for 6.5 -- as new features are still being worked on and sorted out to make the release even better.  We are planning on a 2005 Q1 open beta, with the release coming near the end of Q1 or beginning of Q2.

How do I get into the 6.5 Beta?

Existing customers of Truevision can proceed to the members page to link their license key to their user account, which will grant you automatic access into all current and future TV3D Beta Programs.  The only other way would be to apply for the Beta Program, and hope that you are either hand selected by the team, or added automatically when we increase the number of beta users as each round of testing progresses.

Why is it called 6.5 and not 7.0, its such a major upgrade!

As a commitment to our users, we promised that this version would still belong to the 6.x branch, thus allowing existing customers a free upgrade without additional costs.  Our next version will branch us into the 7.x branch, where we will continue to expand and develop the engine, but also provide the users with multiple tools to aid in their development.
