I using 3ds max and I have a partial model (just legs) that I have animated footsteps with Physique.

I tried to export this to TVA but 3ds max crashed...

So then, I exported it and the animation to a .X

I was able to load and view the .X model with the model viewer but it also rendered my biped???

When I attempted to play the animation the model viewer crashed...

I know that I am probably doing something wrong, I just don't know what it is.......

1.  Why couldn't I export to .TVA
2.  Why would it export the biped as well when exporting to .X
3.  Why didn't my animations export as well.

4.  Also, how do I NAME keyframe sets in 3ds max.
For example
1-30: Walk
31-60: Run

5.  Final question in this post I promise.
Why can't I load a .TVA within Model Viewer???
I have version 1.0, is there a newer version of it?

Thanks in advance!

Bipeds will always be exported unless you hide them. Do that before exporting.

As for the rest of the questions, there were a number of bugs with actors which were causing problems in TV, ModelView and the Exporters, but as far as I know Sylvain has now found and fixed all of them. All the ones I know about anyway. I don't believe there has been a new public release since those bugs were fixed however, but I suspect the next public build should fix most.

Thanks for the reply. My next step was to hide the biped but I have been real busy this weekend.

I cannot wait for the second release. Or, I could learn more about animations by making my own model viewer..  Roll Eyes

If you get a TVA that crashs at loading, please send it to me. You never know, it's maybe a new bug.

Nevermind... I didn't know that the 6.5 tools had been released - I was using the older 6.3 tools.  Roll Eyes

I haven't had any more problems since I switched to the newer tools.

Sorry for wasted time.
