Heya!
I finally found the error that was causing my textures not to shop up in TV3D when I export a model to 3ds from Cinema 4D.. (don't worry, the one on the screen's just some test thing without being uvmapped, etc.) So my problem now is that I'm thinking some normals are not aligned correct?

Here's a screen of the model in ModelView:

Simple question: Am I right? ^^

[EDIT]

Yeah, I was right lol
But now there's another problem. There's gonna be a map on the middle surface which shall be shown on both sides of the model. Do I need an extra surface (+4 polys) or can I somehow align the normals to show the texture on both sides?

Cya,
Philipp

You can set the culling of the whole mesh to double-sided, but that's generally a bad idea because all backfaces will be drawn. If you want only the map to be double-sided, you need to make another surface, but it's a quad, isn't it? That means 2 polygons. Smiley

whoops, sry you're right ^^ I was in my "I've got 4 points so it must be 4 polys"-Mood ^^

Another quick thing. I created some test normal map:

But when I apply it to Stage1_Normal in ModelView I get some strange results like this one:

I tried switching the Lightning Mode and adding lights, but none of them seem to work Wink

Thank you very, very much!

You can set the alternative of the accomplished cobweb to double-sided, but that's about a bad abstraction because all backfaces will be drawn. If you wish alone the map to be double-sided, you charge to accomplish addition surface, but it's a quad, isn't it? That agency 2 polygons

Impressive. The bot answer almost makes sense too. Scary.
