I created 2 legs from extruding a box then coping it (mirror).

I then lined up a biped, then applied Physique to both legs(meshes) at the same time.

When I attempt to move the biped legs, some of the leg's verticies stay in place rather than moving with the rest of the leg...

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?Huh?

Thanks in advance!

You haven't finished yet. You now have to adjust the envelopes (or vertices directly) so that the vertex weights are appropriate per bone. In other words, you have vertices in the leg mesh that aren't associated with a bone or the weight is not strong enough to move the vertices with the bone.

You should assign the vertices to the bones by hand. Physique's automatic weight assigment is not anywhere plausible. Just use the physique drop down menu, use vertex mode. Using the buttons 'select' and 'assign to link' you can make sure the vertecies follows the right bone.

There are techniques which help this process alot, I suggest going thru 3DS Max basic tutorial or this one (goes thru basic biped modification and physique modifier, vertices are assigned with envelope method):

That's not bad advice. However, if your model is optimized and low-poly (as it should be for games) then the envelope weighting in Physique will work fine. Though you may need to go to "manual" mode to fine tune any wandering vertices. This is way faster and efficient than assigning all vertices by hand and the reason Physique was created in the first place. Otherwise, you might was well use the Skin modifier.

Thank you everyone for the helpful tips! I got that part of it working.

Now on to animation! Smiley
