Hi to everyone,

I've recently tried out Visual Studio 2010. It works quite well, but i stumbled across one of the most annoying missing features of all times. The middle mouse click and drag doesn't scroll the text editor any more!  Huh
So I was dissapointed, then came over that and wrote my own extension to do just what i needed it to do. I've decided to make it public, so everyone using Visual Studio 2010 can use it (no express version support, since express doesn't allow extensions).
If you want to download it, go to this page, or just type "smooth scroll" in the extension manager.

Hello,

Sorry but that's absurd!

Visual Studio 2010 (all editions, including express editions) do have that feature. It was ridiculous if it was missing.

My personal computers (both) installed with the Express editions (windows 7) and my job computers (windows xp, vista and 7) installed with professional edition are working with no problem!

You could have a problem in your copy of the software OR your system!

Regards,

hehe, I'm not talking about being able to scroll with the scroll wheel.
I'm talking about pressing down the wheel, to click it. Then the arrows appear on your screen, and by moving your mouse it scrolls  Roll Eyes
I've seen multiple posts about it not working, and it didn't work for me, so i developed it.

Thats very strange, aren't these kind of things normally handled by the mouse driver (at least they are for my logitech mice).

Yea they are, but apparently not for visual studio 2010, since I've tried with and without logitech setpoint and it didn't matter. It also didn't work for my Dell mouse, as well as the middle mouse of my laptop. So i guess it's just a design flaw. The object is probably not flagged as being a text box or so. The whole UI has been rebuild in WPF afaik.
