I would like to download some pre-made models off the internet most likely free ones.   Before I start to relearn how to use milkshape3d again.   So, I have some questions I'd like to clear up about Model Converter.  If, I find on the internet some .obj,  .3ds, and .mdl files that I’d like to use in projects.

1.    Would they automatically convert to TVM (Static) or TVA (Animation) files depending on the information they contain?

2.   Or would it be necessary in some way to tell the converter, what to save.  So, that the files do not lose any information you need to use?

3.   Do .3ds files = .max or not? (I searched for .3ds on Turbo Squid and both showed up in the results.  So, will either convert or just the .3ds files?)
