I can't get vb.net 2005 work with tv 6.2. It throws an exception : A first chance exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException'

I searched the forum, i found some solutions but nothing changed. I tried to reinstall 6.2, directx and .net too but the same problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanx for your time guys

Thanx for the tip but it didn't work.

I can't understand why throws this exception. Everything seems to be in place.

check directx and see if it is in debug mode.
have you tried other unmanaged DLLs in vb2005? if you are getting the same error you may be having issues with the app.

Also, if the version of 2005 is the free one from microsoft, then you should understand that it is free because they stripped out the integration with third party tools, dlls etc.

Other dlls work fine. The only problem is with tv 6.2. I can't find a way to set directx in debug mode . If i use the directx 9.0c library will work? I currently use the directx 8 for visual basic type library.

Im using VB Express 2005 the latest demo of TV3D downloaded from teh website and Direct X 9c Redit Not SDK as I do not require it to use TV3D.

I do not have the problems you have at all, but did find that starting a project from scratch did not work at all as the way that the forms are created in VS2005 excludes / hides the widows generated code, and some of the init code for teh engine did not work.

I can however first make a copy of the included samples open them follow the upgrade wizard and from then on everything is fine and works dandy.

Don't think this will help you but if you find that teh samples wil compile but your applications wont just use one of them, strip it down to how you like it and save as Empty TV3D project.

PS:

You do have the framework 2.0? yes sorry forget to mention that a freind of mine had to download in manually, as he had problems with the auto downloader included with VB2005

Good luck

near the end there is a solution if 64bit is your problem.
