Hi,

I have been using v6.5 TVb3D65.dll recently. I downloaded it a couple of months ago and everything worked fine until I came to set the parent attribute for duplicated meshes (I wanted to use the functionality of the addchild example in the v6.3 manual).

As I couldn't get the set parent method to work for duplicate meshes, I got the most recent download from the server (May 08). I receive the error message "ActiveX component cannot create object" when "Set TV3D = New TVEngine" is called.

Is this a known issue with the latest VB6 wrapper, and is it possible to set the parent of a duplicate mesh?

many thanks,

cheers for the responses.

Oh yes no problem about setting parent of a duplicate mesh.

For the Error ActiveX compnent cannot create object", it's definitively because one DLL is missing or because you didn't register the TVB dll correctly.

Try to regsvr32.exe the tvb3D65.dll file, if it does not work, test the DLL on depends.exe ( Dependency Walker ) and  see what files are required.

Usually it's something like D3DX9_36.dll that is missing.

Thanks Sylvain,

I did what you suggested and it was the D3DX9_36.dll. A simple download of the latest (June 2008) DX9 redist fixed the problem,

cheers for the help
