I have been trying to load the TrueVision3d engine, but none of the DLLs will register.  Version 6 didn't seem to download with a setup executable, so I downloaded the version 5.8.  It loaded fine up until it had to register the dlls.  At that point I get the following message.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\NE8Peer2Peer.dll
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: LoadLibrary failed; code 1157.
One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found

Upon clicking Ignore, none of the other dlls registered either.  Following the documentation, I tried to manually register the dlls  using regsvr32 without success.  I noticed in the FAQ that others running Win 98 have the same problem.  Is there a workaround or another way to register regsvr32?  Can I upload a newer version of regsvr32 somewhere?

Thanks,

Is DirectX8.1 installed on your computer?

Do you have VB6 runtimes installed?

These are the possible reasons of the registrering not working.

I had the same problem with TV3D 6 RC2, but I have experimented and it's simple to do if you know it.

Click on the Windows98 start button and then on hmmm "execute"? (I only have a german Windows98 and there it named "Ausführen")
Now must open a little window with a pulldownmenu there you can enter the

regsvr32 "C:\Bin\TrueVision3D.dll"

and then press the ok button. The same with the other DLL's.

its "Run" in english versions..

Yeah make sure you have DirectX 8.1 and get RC2 + Patch

and register the DLL's via regsrv32 and make sure you place the TVUtil32.dll into your windows\system32
