Hi, I've recently installed the TrueVision 3D 6.5 open beta release and I experience a bug. When I try to convert an .x file with the Model Converter tool I get an error telling me that "TV3D65.DLL" is missing.

Does somebody use the converter with success? Is it a known bug? Huh

Hi, you need to copy the TV3D65.DLL into the same directory as the converter exe file

Hmmm

did you register TV3D65.DLL??

copy the dll into your system32 directory then go to windows start menu

Start->run->type: "Regsvr32 TV3D65.dll"

Normally you should not have to register the TV3D65.dll if it's used by the modelconverter (because it's using the C++ dynamic library system, not COM)

However I would check if for example you have the copied the correct DLLs (check date : the date should be beginning of September). And check if you have the correct D3DX dlls too (D3DX9_31 and D3DX9_35)

First of all is it "TV3D65.dll" or "MTV3D65.dll"? I have MTV3D65.dll in the sdk folder but no TV3D65.dll....

Secondly, the date is septembre 3 2007 (for MTV3D56.dll)

Third, I have all the D3DX9 dll

Fourth, I got an error when trying to register MTV3D65 telling me to verify if it is a valid dll or ocx. DllRegisterServer entry point not found ?!?!

It's really the TV3D65.dll Smiley You must install also the C++ dll (this is the C++ dll)
It should be found in sdk/cppdll
