Nothing Is Funner Then DirectX Coding.

I purchased a new machine that is running Vista Home Premium 32bit. This is exactly what happened. I brought the computer home. Installed a geforce 9600 gt oc video card. Downloaded TV 6.5. Downloaded my license manager and created my dev key file. No demo's would work. VB6 would freeze immediately. .NET woulds error on initializing the engine. If I delete my license file the demos will run fine.

My key works fine on XP machines. Just not this vista box. Any idea's?

Do you have DirectX installed properly?

My lapotop has Vista 32 Home Premium and I have not encountered this issue.

Didn't Microsoft drop support for the VB6 libraries from Vista, though?  I'm a C# guy so I have not tried any VB6 on this machine.

Vista still supports legacy applications (VB6). But like I said I can use TV3D fine, as LONG as I do not have my license key created. As soon as a license key is put into Documents, TV3D will hang indefinately. Right now I just leave my license key out. Which works for now, but I still paid for no watermark + I find that to be annoying =P. So hopefully this can get fixed up haha.  Good day 2 u all.

This next release contains a fix for removable devices, which is generally what causes this issue.  We will have the new release out in the next day or two, just finishing up my testing and I have one final fix for the archive builder (I hate late bugs).  Hopefully this will resolve your issue, if not we will have you send a few diag files to us and we will get it fixed.

Microsoft supports the VB6 libraries on Vista for the lifetime of Vista or 5 years, which ever comes sooner. The question is whether or not Vista will last five years. At the rate it's going, I doubt it.

Thanks Shadow. As usual the TV3D community is a very awesome one. And a close one. Glad all our screams of frustration or just even simple quesetions get answered =) where other places all you do is get flamed...

Since we're on the subject, David, you have a game out there using 6.5, right? How has the license system been working for you? Many problems?

well i downloaded the latest pre-release version today. also downloaded the licence sign program. using vista home premium 64bit and vc# 2008 express. if i run the template or demo without licence key. they work but have the water mark. if run with the licence key. no demo or template work.

so was the licence sign key program updated or not? if it was updated why isn't it working for me?

i used my bought licence details cause i couldn't get it to accept my prerelease beta key details.

problem solved. seems the files i downloaded from one of the mirrors was an older version. i have now downloaded the new version from the truevision3d server. all works fine now with licence key.

I'm not using Vista, but I had a problem too this morning with Licensesign. I guess it's because I'm behind a proxy (it's my work laptop)... could it be because of that?

Something like: NullReferenceException @ licenseSign.modQuery.QueryServer(Arraylist)
