The pScene->MousePicking function doesn't seem to work in some situations and doesn't pick the mesh properly.

I have uploaded my exe and C++ source code to demonstrate this. When you move your mouse over the teapot, it should print '*picked*'. It works when you zoom in with the right mouse button, but when you zoom out and the object is smaller, it doesn't detect a collision in the teapot's handle.

Does anyone know a way around this? And is this bug present in 6.5 too? The bug is preventing me to do what I want, so till it's fixed, I won't purchase a license. Otherwise I like tv3d...

I dont think there's been any updates to 6.2 in several years.  That version is going nowhere.  Meanwhile, there have been half a dozen updates to 6.5 in the last two years.  I suggest you buy a license and join the beta.  Besides 6.2 is notoriously bad mannered with respect to C++ coding.  6.2 is written in VB6 afterall and 6.5 is rewritten from scratch in C++ and even works with GCC.

So  if you're waiting for your mouse picking bug in 6.2 to get fixed, you'll be waiting a lifetime.

Hi Hypnotron,

thanks for your advice. But I have to make sure that the bug is fixed in 6.5 and that mousepicking works in this particular case (in the way it is used in my example). I can't test that myself as the beta isn't publicly available, and if it doesn't there is no reason for me to purchase a license. A bit chicken-egg situation.
