Ive got 1 GB of memory on my graphics (ati radeon 5870) and that is what I've got from TV :

Yea, it's been wrong for a loooooooooooooong time. Mine for example says:

But it's better to get higher positive number that negative Smiley

In my older app (on older computer) - I used to math if user has enough memory to load high detail textures - and now .. i cannot do that Smiley

Sylv - fix it Smiley or give us another way to math graphic card memory.

There are external tools by Nvidia and ATI which let you diagnose your memory and a huge number of other things in real time. It overlays data onto the screen regardless of what mode you're running. Google it. Wink

There are external tools by Nvidia and ATI which let you diagnose your memory and a huge number of other things in real time. It overlays data onto the screen regardless of what mode you're running. Google it. Wink

You missed by point. I'm developing games that many users can buy and run on their computers. These are fast and slow computers, with buildin gfx and powerful gfx with lots of ram.

So my app just gets available gfx memory from TV function and loads textures suitable for customer gfx.
When I'm getting negative number, app thinks that there is a very low ram card Smiley and loads low quailty textures, even if user has 2GB of ram on gfx.

That is why I think that this function is quite important for game developer.

Sylvain said yesterday he will fix it and he found a DirectX sdk example of it so it should be quick/simple to add in the next release.
