Have you put the TV3D65.DLL on same path of 3ds max binarys? Might work if put on \Winnt\system32 (or whatever you installed ur OS)

Does it do it when you export to .X also ? If not, please send me the generated .x file.

I just confirmed the same error with Max 2008:
"An error has occurred and the application will now close. Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?"
No file is generated since the crash occurs partway through the export process. I attempted to export both unskinned and skinned test models into TVA, X (text), and X (binary) formats, with the same result each time.

Hmmm...
If it worked for you, I have to work from the assumption that I did something wrong on my end.
I put the TV3D65.dll (from TV3D SDK 6.5\sdk\cppdll) into the Max 2008 root directory (with the Max binary), and I also put a copy in Windows\System32 just to be sure. The single Max 2008 TV3DExport.DLE was put in the plugins directory.
I created a simple box, added a single texture, tried exporting to X, and had the same crash. A box without a texture also crashed, just as my character model did. I can certainly send you my character model, but it seems to be crashing regardless of what I try to export at this point.
Other specs, in case this helps:
Windows Vista Home Premium (UAC disabled) AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00 GB Ram NVidia GForce 8800GT
The latest drivers, Direct X, and all versions of NET installed.
Also, has anyone else with Max 2008 tried testing the new export?
Thanks, Tim

If it crashes at export 25%, we found the problem and fixed it. Be a little patient we will release it soon enough !

Any more news on this? Our artists use 3dsmax2008 and we'd love to go ahead with using this. Is there just an updated max plugin we can get ahold of?
Cheers, Conan.

The IRC topic says Sylv is away on vacation until the 17th. Sorry guys, but I'm guessing you'll have to wait till then to get anything on this one.
