http://www.tvprojects.orgA while back I had the idea for a TV3D Projects website, which would allows sdk users to register their project and post news and files relating to it. About a week ago I decided, what the hell, and started working on it. So I took wordpress code ( good, strong base for the site in my opinion ), ripped alot of stuff out of it and rebuilt it into the site I visioned. Well.. the site is now ready for usage, it has undergone testing of its features from a few close friends, so you will the site already has a few projects on there, as well as undergone testing for holes in the code where it mite be exploited. All seems well so I'm ready for you, the community, to try it out. What is can do-Post frontpage news about any developments in your project. -Upload files/screenshots. -Keep a status message and progress setting to let users know how far and what stage your project is in. -Use the Tasks feature to let users see the progress of your project. -Users can "subscribe" to your project, allowing them to enter their email address and have an email sent to them with every post you make.
How it worksAfter a project is registered, a moderator needs to authorize the project. This is just a basic screening process. After the project is authorized it can use all the features except for Upload file/screenshots. Also you will recieve an email when your project has been authorized.
If your project has any screenshots or files you wish to upload just email me at andrewmac@gmail.com and I'll upgrade your project. This is another screening process to make sure people don't abuse the space/bandwidth. [/list] Anyway, I hope the community enjoys it, I know personally I love following the progress of projects, and this makes it all in one place, whcih would be great. p.s. I plan to buy a domain soon, after I see how the launch of the site goes. http://www.tvprojects.org

Truely nice work! I really like this idea. I hope ppl will use it. Can I have one suggestion? When you click on any category then not only the project names should be listed but a short description also.(and maybe the latest image as a thumbnail). Names are not too informative.

Csakip has a point. Something a bit more than the tooltip would be a welcome addition. I would add my project also, when I have one (I have pretty much abandoned my old one for time being). Good work.

Thanks for the positive comments. The project listing page has been updated and now includes the first 100 characters of the projects description. Tell me if you have any further suggestions or ideas.

Just an idea, but what about adding a count of the # of projects in each category on the navigation area?

TV Projects is off to a great start, with 13 registered projects and numerous posts and file uploads, it seems to be accepted amungst the community, and to make it even easier to access, we now have a domain name. TV Projects is now availible at http://www.tvprojects.org/ and within the next few days we will be phasing out http://tv3dprojects.theblackmass.org/ , so change your bookmarks/links over if you can =) Special thanks to almaris, and his project Lux Aeterna for helping pay for the domain. Thanks.

I have to say, I absolutely love this site idea. It's a great way to keep track of projects using TV3D, and see what everyone in the community is up to. I have even added my mini-game project to the site, which is a showcase of 6.5 features wrapped into a playable physics-based game. =) Heck, perhaps if enough people start asking, Andrew will add in a signature image module that will show you project stats. If I remember correctly, TVProjects is down. However, there is now a substitute page on the wiki, until it gets started back up once again. Additionally, I've got the webspace, and I'm mighty decent at web design, if someone else wants to rip apart Wordpress or some equivalent bloggish software for me to play with.

TVProjects will be returning soon. Once we get the initial rounds of bugfixes done with 6.5 we'll be bringing it back up. Unfortunately the data was lost, but I plan to integrate it nicely with the new site here -- since it was such a hit before.
