The C++ ones are made in 2008 professional. However, they should open and build just fine in express. I'm not using any pro-only features.

I'll mirror that on my server shsdevries.

ZaPP can you PM me a direct link to the new .NET ones so I can mirror them. My wlan atm is running really slowly for some reason so I don't want to spend half an hour browsing sites to find it Tongue. Thanks.

Well, as a demonstration of the issues with my wireless atm.

Code:
geoff@esoteric:~/downs> wget http://tv3d.simondevries.com/VB6.zip
--2008-08-01 15:23:19--  http://tv3d.simondevries.com/VB6.zip
Resolving tv3d.simondevries.com... failed: Name or service not known.
wget: unable to resolve host address `tv3d.simondevries.com'

I will mirror it when I can download it Simon. Sad

Got it all mirrored as well. Separate downloads for the different languages. And of course a separate download for the common folder. Download page direct link: http://www.bartkuipers.com/index.php?id=16

Ok, what I've done is mirror every archive. So the C++ one is now also seperate from the media. I've also changed the main url in the initial post to yours - so you should add the mirror urls to your site and we'll use yours as a sort of portal.

http://azazeldev.org/tv65/ReleaseVC++.rar
http://azazeldev.org/tv65/ReleaseVCsharp.zip
http://azazeldev.org/tv65/ReleaseVB6.zip
http://azazeldev.org/tv65/ReleaseVBNET.zip
http://azazeldev.org/tv65/common.zip

Also, I'd appreciate if you could change this line:

"The downloadable tutorials you'll find here are all written by AriusEso."

to

"The downloadable tutorials you'll find here are all written by Geoff Wilson."

Now, new releases. I'll put these in a different folder and then PM you and Simon. This way all releases will be made public at the same time. Rather than having the C++ ones released a day or so earlier than the .NET ones followed by the VB6 ones another day later - or whatever. Saves confusion if we can collaborate properly and get them all out at the same time.

I don't actually have Windows installed at the moment as I'm OpenGL'ing it. So the next samples will be next week sometime.

They will most likely be the following.

#23: HLSL Simple Uniform Point Light Shadow Mapping. ( PVL )
#24: HLSL Simple Uniform Point Light Shadow Mapping. ( PPL Parallax )
#25: Simple Physics

Daggio:
Do you have the latest version of TV3D? I had a black screen at the tutorial with Rancor, and by installing the latest version of TV3D it was solved... Smiley
You can download it here: http://www.truevision3d.com/downloads/download.php?go=2&file=28&mirror=39 (don't use a mirror).

AriusEso: I'll mirror them all today when I have time Wink

ZaPP, thanks. Smiley

doesn't matter I can see the landscape now Cheesy

but all I see is cracking ground, I want to see a little bit more of the landscape (the horayzon...or horeezone...or whatever)

any suggestion where I should set the cam.setLookAt() ?

thanks for wanting to help Cheesy

edit:
I have a little questions about this landscape tutorial

1.we're creating directional light here and not point of light, and I can see that the parameters are different here. We're defining the direction, the RGB color, the name and the specular level. So where's the light from, just say I set the direction to (-15,0,-10) from where the light is projected? and what is specular level? (sorry, I just want to know)

2.At the Land.GenerateTerrain we take the hmap.dds file from the common directory, I've read the wiki and it says that the DDS is a texture file, but after I generate the terrain I can see the terrain is just like a 3D model (like the .TVM model) so where do we get this terrain data?

sorry if my questions sounds stupid, I'm new to TV3D Tongue

Maybe I can help a bit on this one.
1. Directional lighting, as it name suggest, is lighting with one common direction. All the lighting ray in the scene is parallel to the vector direction (in your case, (-15,0,-10)). It doesn't have any specific geometry point as a source.
2. Actually, DDS is composed of Surface and Alpha image. http://wiki.truevision3d.com/tutorialsarticlesandexamples/making_dds_textures_for_use_with_truevision
Right me if I'm wrong, but I think TV3D use the Alpha image as height map for it's landscape. This height map information will decide what part of landscape have certain height (black will have lower height, and white will have higher height, or vice versa, I forgot Tongue )

Hope this help Daggio  Wink

Well, you said to correct you if you were wrong. Tongue

I beleive TV3D uses the Red channel for height data, in this case. However, TV3D does support full colour heightmapping.

uhm.. basically i dont know anything about headers.. i'm hoping i can learn a bit from tv3d
okay. when i open up an .sln it says in the debug that it cant find uhm.. 'tvactor.h'?
no idea where to put the cppdll folder but i have the right setup for common and demos but argh

i added all the headers to the project but then it comes up with like 9387483 dll errors

anyway you guys are probably gonna laugh at me
im using vc++ express sooo.. not sure if thats the problem or not
i cant register or reference(?) the c++ dll..

anyways, quickfix GO GO!

Ok in order to fix that problem you have to FIRST register the dll for TV3D65.

First, find and copy the FULL path to the TV3D65.DLL in the sdk folder. On my computer its:
"C:\Program Files\TV3D SDK 6.5\sdk\cppdll\TV3D65.DLL"

Now, go to START>RUN then type in:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\TV3D SDK 6.5\sdk\cppdll\TV3D65.DLL"

Now, try the project then.
If it still doesn't work then you will have to add the reference in the project file.
It will be in the COM section of the references.
