Hello everybody, I decided to drop in. I recently canceled my web page service and holding off on making a new website for my projects. Having some trouble with my personal finances and a few months without have to pay for something will help. I hope to get something back up by October. I am also involved with Tetris Xtreem, a retro game project for the Atari 800XL and hope to be done with that soon.
I will be upgrading my Role Playing Game Maker, known as Realm Magic. Some of the planned upgrades are an improved in-game user interface where its going to take on elements of a first-person shooter type interface, but still be RPG. Going to make it so you can control everything from either the Keyboard, Mouse, or Joystick, and don't have to go from one another during game play. This will keep people from having a "MAC ATTACK" when playing a game. Other planned upgrades is improving the character attributes, movement, and add more flexibility. The last major upgrade is Armor and Weapon damage and having to go somewhere to repair them.
I received several inquiries about MMORPG ports, but I don't play these things and not familiar with how to put something like that together. I have not many details on how to make something like that. These things require very large worlds to be created with lots of stuff in it. So the bottom line is I am no way going to do all that by myself.
Another inquiry I had received is a First Person Shooter Port for my software and this I did thought about, even considered an option to where a created game be played as a FPS. It is not really compatible with the way I have things set up. However I am taking ideals from FPS games and incorporating them into a new in game user interface.Like using the number keys to select weapons, single buttons to quickly access inventory, etc.
As you probably have gathered I am into retro gaming and Realm Magic was designed to be extension of older graphics, text adventure games, board games, Role Playing Games, etc. Just done in a 3D graphic environment with Truevision3D. I am gearing it toward fans of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons type games.
