Hello everybody, I decided to drop in. I recently canceled my web page service and holding off on making a new website for my projects. Having some trouble with my personal finances and a few months without have to pay for something will help. I hope to get something back up by October. I am also involved with Tetris Xtreem, a retro game project for the Atari 800XL and hope to be done with that soon.

I will be upgrading my Role Playing Game Maker, known as Realm Magic. Some of the planned upgrades are an improved in-game user interface where its going to take on elements of a first-person shooter type interface, but still be RPG. Going to make it so you can control everything from either the Keyboard, Mouse, or Joystick, and don't have to go from one another during game play. This will keep people from having a "MAC ATTACK" when playing a game. Other planned upgrades is improving the character attributes, movement, and add more flexibility. The last major upgrade is Armor and Weapon damage and having to go somewhere to repair them.

I received several inquiries about MMORPG ports, but I don't play these things and not familiar with how to put something like that together. I have not many details on how to make something like that. These things require very large worlds to be created with lots of stuff in it. So the bottom line is I am no way going to do all that by myself.

Another inquiry I had received is a First Person Shooter Port for my software and this I did thought about, even considered an option to where a created game be played as a FPS. It is not really compatible with the way I have things set up. However I am taking ideals from FPS games and incorporating them into a new in game user interface.Like using the number keys to select weapons, single buttons to quickly access inventory, etc.

As you probably have gathered I am into retro gaming and Realm Magic was designed to be extension of older graphics, text adventure games, board games, Role Playing Games, etc. Just done in a 3D graphic environment with Truevision3D. I am gearing it toward fans of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons type games.

Hello I am back. I see Truevision3D Forum is not what is use to be. Things can go for months without a reply where I use to get a response in a few hours.

I have spent some time with RPG maker and decided to make some changes to its internal 3D character engine. I am adding more options for eye color, eye brows, skin textures, hair styles, etc. The new models are more detailed and hope to release the new version soon.

I have decided to drop ideal of having MMORPG options in the RPG maker itself. Any RPG maker is geared toward making single player, single quest games with author made characters. With items that can only be used once. What I might decide to do in the future is a separate MMORPG project with a whole different setup for the game database. Things like items, areas, quests, etc. Will probably use that same map world editor and format. Anyone looking to create and host a MMORPG would prefer that editing game data to themselves. I would have to find a group of people to work with me on this aspect of it.

I am working on adding security options so someone can make a RPG with this software and sell it on their own. It will lockout someone else editing a their RPG. Of course, they have to pay me for the RPG builder first and I have to pay Truevision3D.

welcome back...and while the tv forums are not what they used to be, its still mostly the same.  I salute you for the dedication to your project, which is most likely the longest running tv3d project to date.

Upgrades for the 3D characters are in the debugging stage. I am also working on upgrading the credit and security sections of the programs. Looking for it to allow an author to create a RPG with this software and be able to sell the RPG itself. The new security features password protect the RPG files and will require someone to register the game before playing it. A new onscreen credit display will give an option to show addition credits of those who worked on a game and have company emblems displayed on the bottom of the screen.

An ideal I'm flirting with is finding a few creative people a standard default "Universe." for future RPGs. That is create a standard set of monsters, weapons, potions, keys, character classes, and skill levels. These will be available to anyone who wishes to create RPGs. Also be made available for an Online game.
