Ive decided to make a shooter game, but i have no concept nor any media(artwork,sounds...) , Im not even sure if itll be 1st or 3rd person, Im opening this thread to be the home of my project, where people can post ideas, help, or other stuff relating to the game. Ill post an update whenever I think about it, but since im not a very proficient programmer, dont expect it anytime soon(unless the community really comes through with help )

well, It is YOUR game right?
you need to set your scope and limitations so you'd be able to finish. without clear goals your just a stray bullet hittin everything else but your target.

My target is really just to create a fun game, but I understand what your saying, if i dont have my own specific goals for the game, ill never make a fun game

If i was to design a new game/project simple or otherwise, I would start with a storyboard like the original annimators do. This way you can plan and map out what you want. each drawing or cell you create can be used then to figure out exactly what the game requirements and in a way will possibly/probably show you where you may have problems.
From these drawings you can then start coding with confidence knowing exactly what you are triing to achieve which is always nice to know.
I wish you all the best.

hmmm.... suggest forming a team to help build it. designers for game play design, programmers that scopes it to its code limitations, and artist drag it further from RGB to grayscale. great ideas magnets followers, ala Jesus and his disciples. and im far from being like him.

how about a first/third person shooter that has the setting modern/scifi that enables player to traverse on most(or any) obstacles like. ambitious... im talking bout my self. the soldier can climb walls/fence, rapel(is the spelling correct?), climb trees, etch. i just hate it when i see fences that you could normally climb but the game does not allow and make you instead to move your way around it. i always wanted to climb on places that are inaccesible or are well hidden to give me good sniping sight. really love seeing other players running and then suddenly lies flat o the floor dead. wish i could see their pissed off faces. jump, duck, crouch, prone, stand, run, lean on wall etc., most fps game are limited to that actions. i suggest adding some more. i like price of persia's way of traversing on obstacles.

while those are good ideas, and i totally agree about the climbing thing, late last night i came up with an idea that i definitely want to base my game around
