I have updated my RPG builder (Realm Magic) with some nice updates that I hope will make things easier and more comprehensible, easier to understand and figure out how to do things. This is a first of two upgrades that are geared toward making RPGs easier and quicker. I cannot disclose everything that is being considered on the second set, just say making RPGs with Realm Magic will be much easier.

I am still looking for helpers for ideals, programmers, debuggers, models, texture images, and game makers. If you feel you would like to be a part of this team, please contact me at admin@petermeyer.net or peterj_m5@yaoo.com (also Yahoo IM). Currently Visual Basic 6 is the mainstream programming language with adaption of VB.NET 2005 being worked on.

Actually I have been developing it on and off for the last 6, closer to 7 years now.

The next step of upgrades I have in mind involves replacing the individual modes for drawing floors, ceilings, walls, & other objects. Looking to make navigating between the different components easier.

7 years? wow!

Most just fizzle out after awhile, so it's good to see your still working on it, good luck with it!

I cannot say I never abandoned my project. I did consider handing it off to others a few times and let them develop it further. There were times where I left it alone for 6 or 8 months at a time and went onto develop other projects or take care of something personal. I come up with new ideals for upgrades and sometimes would spend weeks or months developing them before announcing what I am doing or asking for help.

When I started this project, I wanted to make something to where people can create a Role Playing Game without an extensive knowledge in computers or be a crack shot programmer. You do not have to know C++, Basic, Assembly, Java, SQL, or any of those programming language. They would let me and other programmers do that part. What they do is just draw the Environment and Enter the information for their game and the software does the rest.

I have been working on ways of simplifying the 3D world creation and information entry. I am looking to get it to the point of a 7th grader can use it (in English). I am also looking into making it multi-lingual with an internal language settings. I have used online translators, but probably would need some assistance in this area when I start working on this area. Some of the function labels could be accompanied with common icons, have to figure out icons for adding in ceilings, floors, walls, passages, roofs, etc. Anyone have ideals?

I am hoping to get my next update out by the end of October 2007. This is a major upgrade because it undoes ways things were done in prior versions of Realm Magic. The new ways would be more direct, quicker to do, and I hope it would be easier for the end user to figure out.
