Hi !

Thanks fot your feedback ! Do you have email at hotmail ? I'm using yahoo smtp in the site and i don't know why, hotmail accounts don't receive emails from that, i've tried many others without problems. I'm going to change the smtp today ok ?
In the meantime, go to the forum section and register there and/or post a message in the FeedBack section ( home page ) with your login and i'll create one for you ok ?

Thanks again

Hi folks !

I have good news and bad news. Good news first.
I bought the license key yesterday ( sunday ) and now i have access to the beta version, which has lots of features that i needed. so the graphics, effects, ocean, so on will be improved.
The bad news is that i'll not be able to release the beta version for test because of the license, but i'll continue to inform the progress of the game, new screenshots.

Thanks all

Hi all !
After some days without news, here we go ...
Two weeks ago i bought the Truevision License and got the beta version, so i spent the last days porting to the new version and added some new features like more realistic ocean, better graphics and fast rendering ( FPS ).
Due to the nature of the license, i'm unable to release the game until the engine is released, so i'll continue to post news and screenshots in the site.
It's good, because i'll be able to release the game with more things done and it'll be more playable.
I'll put in the Ideas section in the site many ideas for the game. I hope comments ok ?  Cheesy

Bye all

Hi all !
I've been absent for several week due to work, family, so on ( again   ) and since i'm alone it's taking more time than i'd like to. But here is some new screens. I'm working now in a single-payer tutorial like version to help new captains to become familiar with the controls and the game itself before entering the "Real World".

Bye all

Sweet! Nice site, very nice site. Nice pics too. That game looks sweet. I have been thinking about making a game like that, though more sci-fi, kinda like Galaxies. Oh, did i mention you have a nice site?. -Obi

Obi, (not to be rude to lanso) but that's a very "generic" php-Nuke website with a proper skin. His skin looks cool and he probably made it himself, but quite frankly anyone can make a site like this in a couple of hours and some motivation.

Yep, I also wouldn't go and compare a Content Management site like Lanso's to corporate sites like Microsoft, Nike, etc. Also, not trying to be rude Cheesy A site is a site, whatever helps you show off your game works.

Also Lanso, just a heads up. But when I click on the RakNet link (not the pic but the text) it brings me here to TV3D's site Cheesy I knew TV3D was that good, hehe...

Hi all !
No ofense taken   but i'm doing all by myself so i don't have much free time, and the little time i can get i'm investing in the game itself, so i'm using phpnuke for now.

After a few months without news, here we go again !
During the past 2 weeks i resumed the game, and i'm making a tutorial-like single player version, to help new players become familiar with the game, interface, commands, so on. It's in an advance stage and in the next weeks i'll put it available. But due license restrictions, this beta will require your key from TrueVision3D version 6.5, because the engine itself is beta and not available to the public. But i'll put some new screens soon in the site and i'll begin the manual.
I've changed the commerce system, now we have city that provides source items to other cities ( like livestock, grains, wood, wool ) and the "industrial" cities, that take this procuts to convert into manufactored items ( food, rum, furniture, textiles, weapons ). You can buy from one city, sell to other, sometimes there'll be quests like "Deliver this urgente message to the city X" or we need you to bring some weapons to our city, all with a reward.
I've put a more elaborated map and some cities from all sorts ( differents supplies and demands and different sizes ).
The graphics is not the primary goal in this stage, i'd prefer a more funcional game than just a ship sailing in a pretty ocean, so the graphics are not as cool as i'd like to.
I'll start the time control. Cities will produce items with the time ( more in greater cities ), the demans will increase, your crew will consume some food and rum, so you'll need a good stock in your ship of them, not just to sell.
More news later.

Thanks all

- I finished the time control. Cities will produce items with the time ( more in greater cities ), the demans will increase, your crew will consume some food and rum, so you'll need a good stock in your ship of them, not just to sell.
- Crew Happiness will decrease with time too, specially without food or rum. Some events can increase it, like raiding cities, defeat an opponent, share some gold with the crew, visit a city, so on.

I'm thinking putting some other ships ( computer controlled ) and code the combat system, ajust some small things and realease a test version.
I'd like to receive some feedback with suggestions and ideias of things that should be in this first release, what you guys thinks ?

Thanks all

Those ideas sound nice! You could also have different kind of "pirates" on your ships (for example the "second man" or navigator or whatever he's called), and you might look for more experienced crewmen as you sail further into the seas Smiley

A bit of RPG, perhaps! Just an idea, free to ignore this Tongue

Thanks !
Actually, i already have crew experience that will increase with time and battles, and the more experienced, more gold is require to keep them happy  Cheesy .
Besides regular crew we'll have more specialized man, like carpenter ( that wil repair your ship while sailing ), cooker (that will make your food last longer ), so on.

Please, keep on bringging more ideias ...
Thanks a lot for the feedback,

Hi all !

Some news these past days.
I implemented physics, and you can shoot other ships ( that will eventually sink ), cities ( so as to reduce the number of their militia and become easier to raid ). I put some sounds and smoke when the cannon ball hit a city or ship. I'll put some screens later.
I guess the first beta version will be available soon ( next weeks ).

Thanks all

Hi all !

After a few months i'm back. I did abandon the game, but i've had some problems and now that i'm starting it again, i decided to start from scratch.
For the past few weeks i've just wrote the game design doc, lots of ideias, specifications so on (i should have done this since the first beginning  Cheesy ).
Now that it's almost ready, i'm making the tools needed, and the first one is my GUI system. You can use it from your program, creating and configuring the objects, or use a XML file, easier way. I've already have some basic objects (text, buttons, window, ...) and by the time i have it working fine, i'll put some screen here ok ?
After that i'll begin (again) the client and server.
There are MANY changes, but it'll be a surprise
and the site will be changed too, since there'll be an area in the site for the players (you can consult some info about the world, yourself, see all the rankings, so on).

Thanks everyone
