wow, has it really been 7 years?  time flys when your making games, or at least trying to.  I've learned a LOT (i can't emphasize that enough) about 3d programming from many of you and learned a lot about game development and game engines working with TV 5.8, 6.0RC1, RC2, RC3, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, and finally 6.5 but it's time for me to move on.

Once thing is for sure, I will miss you all.  I will continue to support software written by myself using TV (like my AmmunitionSDK that people are so fond of) but I will no longer be coming out with anything new using TV (other than work related material).

I have learned so much about 3d graphics programming that I have decided to try my hand at building a game engine of my own.  AmmunitionSDK has taught me a lot about managing large (and I mean large) library projects and how to construct world levels from proprietary formats.

For those of you that bug me about Neverdaunt, I'm NOT Aion, and Aion, thanks for being a sneaky nick thief Wink

But seriously.  I'm moving on to greener pastures and hope everyone the best in their projects.  I for one am going to love developing my own game engine.

Bye and I will miss you all (don't forget to write).

Awww!

Are you going to finish Neverdaunt before you leave? Wink

Jokes aside, we'll miss you.

Don't be a stranger, come pass sometimes.

aeon,

why have you decided to leave? I know you say your working on your own engine, but what is the 'real' reason your leaving? If you know something we don't I would like to know Wink

then again, you probably won't see this message  Tongue

aeon,

why have you decided to leave? I know you say your working on your own engine, but what is the 'real' reason your leaving? If you know something we don't I would like to know Wink

then again, you probably won't see this message  Tongue

The 'real' reason is that I'm developing my own game engine like I said above.  I have no quarrels with anyone here at TV nor do I have any animosity towards TV in general.  I'm just as sad to see me go as you guys are, but I do believe its time for me to move on.  I have the knowledge to build a game engine myself and so you have to understand, I must try.  With that, if I do succeed then TV will not be needed for me anymore.  I am one of those paying customers that never releases a final product because they are too busy understanding how it all works Cheesy

Others have helped me along the way as I have helped others and that's what was sooo great about this community and this engine was that there were literally dozens of people who were eager to help you learn the engine.  I have been fortunate enough to be one of those people the last few years.  But there comes a point when you ask yourself "Do I know enough about 3d programming to do it myself?" and sometimes the answer is "yes".

I will always hold Sylvain in my head as one of the brightest programmers I have ever known and some of you who I will not mention will be missed as well.
