After talks with the band GWAR we are going to work on a project together. About 5 minutes ago I got an email saying the project has a greenlight along with many design docs by the band. This will be the first project I work on that will be sold. It will be sold on GWAR's web site but a price and release date has been undecided.

Incase you do not know who GWAR is they are a shock rock band with tons of creativity. I can assure you with there design this game wont be a disappointment. If you want to see what I mean check out GWARs web site at http://gwar.net BE WARNED! Not all the content on the site is suitable for minors or people that have been sheltered in there childhood years.

The project will be put off for a week or two then we will start finding developers for the project. If your a GWAR fan and is interested in making a small profit or having a chance to work with one of your favorite bands then contact me at bradmetcalf@cox.net

GWAR has given me the rights to work on it along with there full support, design, media, and rons more.

No problem. Glad we got GWAR fans on the forum. (Or at least those that heard of them.) If you want more information on becoming a dev please feel free to contact me. We will pick people that want to work for free first. This way we can sort out fans from the devs that just want money. Nothing against people that want money but we would rather have fans developing that know GWAR then developers that dont know GWAR.

The band has cooked up some great ideas including donating media which is used in the game and some of it is unlockable within the game. GWAR has been pretty supportive of the project.

Dave will ask Buzz Bomb for some space. When we get it a web site should be put up.

You should aim for quality instead of the "free" side of things.  A fan may want to be payed to work since it is a comercial project.

BTW, GWAR made the cartoon spiderman theme and a few other known songs.  You may not know the group but heard some of their songs

Nice to hear this, that many people listen to non-commercial music like this.
Once, when I played on concert, my band played "What Would Brain Boitano Do" - punk version like GWAR made.

This project sounds very interesting.

Dont worry we check for quality before we ever have anyone join the team. So if your thinking of joining examples will be required.

As for money it doesnt mean they wont get money. But GWAR has never been out for money, they do it because they love it. Same with this project. The money they do make will help pay for there upcoming tour and new album. A nice part of it will go back to the devs.

Yeah these guys have done a lot of things you might not known they done. Such as the Spiderman theme for the cartoon. They were shown on the Bevis and Butthead show alot and they were even included in the B&B video game for Sege Genesis. The object of the game was to get tickets for a GWAR show. In the original Quake one of the levels was designed by GWAR.

Well I figured I would update you on this. With GWAR working hard on the new tour and CD not much has been going on with the game. Doesnt sound like it will be dropped or anything. I honestly dont know where its going to go though. Cause if GWAR isnt going to work on it anytime soon I wont. So youll maybe have to wait till after the tour to get new news over this.

But anyway heres an interesting piece of news from GameSpy. Hope it doesnt give GWAR an idea to leave me and my small almost broke dev team and go for a big software company with lots of money.

Yeah, this was planned right before they started to record there new CD "War Party" and go on there very long tour for it. So this caused very big issues with getting input from Dave and the gang because they seemed to be too tied up. Instead of waiting, cause I still would be, I decided to drop the project. Time is money.

Since then I have joined Nemesis Studios as a client programmer. (Cant give much details, NDA) I doubt I will ever go back to the GWAR project. All my time for programming now seems to go towards Nemesis Studios.

Underground metal bands? Wow, my perception of music has grown! Smiley
Time to do some musical research...
