http://www.thepetezone.com/bs/brickspace3.html

I have updated my BrickSpace 3D Breakout type game. The game zip files do not include the source code, those are for people who just want to download and play the came and care less about the source code.

Source code files are in a different download zip, but you have to copy the image, model, and sound files into the BIN folder. I am releasing the source for BrickSpace because I feel it is something I can never make a profit from. I am using it to showcase my skills and the Truevison3D engine.

It is a simple game and is a great test bed to experiment with new features and programming techniques with Truevision3D. There are a ton of features I can think of than can be added. However I cannot give it all my spare time and attention to make it possible. If you think you can do something cool with it, download, do your thing, and let us all see. If I like it, I can incorporate it in a future version of my own.

Thanks for sharing! I got the media from the playable games like you said. It's providing some food for thought thanks again. If I get the Video settings to work the way I'd like. I'll post a link to the code and media.

That would be interesting. I am dedicating myself to working Imperium Magica, my RPG maker. I have ported it over to TV65 with a few upgrades.

I had a few upgrades for Brick Spaces in mind that come out of Break Out, Super Breakout, and Arkanoid. One is to have "Progressive" levels where the blocks scroll toward you after you break so many near you. Another is a shrinker and a freezer. That along doing something better with the video.

Yes, I used to spend all my pocket money in the late 80's playing "Arkanoid Revenge Of Doh" at the arcades. Cheesy

They seems to be a stronger interest with retro games or games drawn from original Arcade. It is coming from the simplicity. We have a few on here trying to do these big complicated 3D games and never seem to complete them. I know trying to set up huge scenery with lots of elements is lots of work. I've been experimenting with ways to reduce work load with my Dungeon RPG maker.

One of the things I would like to try in the BS65 project is to make the paddle tilt up/down & left/right so as to allow sending a ball higher, lower or left and right. In short to be able to better aim at the remaining targets.

That does sound interesting. Its possible to do something like hold the right mouse down and change the tilt or be holding a button down while striking the ball and moving to aim the ball. Just don't do something crazy like using keyboard, mouse, and some other device at the same time. Maybe have a game pad as an alternate input device.

I've been getting a request of making it two player online. Its possible, but I am not willing to put in the time to do some modifications at this time.

joystick/Gamecontroller would be nice but I haven't figured out how to get it working. Do you know if AddToLog() only allows a certain # of arguments as I don't seem to be using it right.

@ peteym5,

I've been messing around with Brick Space for TV65, look in your (Game_Primal.txt) file.

I couldn't get passed Primal06 because Primal07 end in .t(uparrow char)space not .txt

Thought you might like to know.
